Today is Tuesday, September 16th, 2008; Karen's Korner #1402

Take from a study book "Preparing for Battle" on battles with Satan by Mark Bubeck; sub-heading 'The Way to Victory' (in part}. Bible verses surrounding the authors comments were taken from Romans 6:

Either we are slaves to sin and Satan by default,
or we can choose to be slaves of righeousness and Christ.

Our flesh demands the 'right to choose'
how we live, what we do,
who we become, where we go,
who we partner with.

Choice is touted as the ultimate freedom,
so we always seek to expand the array of choices from which to choose.
From ice cream flavors
to ethics and morality,
our sinful flesh cries out for and demands more and more choice.

But infinite choice is not freedom
It is bondage.
It requires ceaseless sifting, examining, debating, weighing, and guessing.
It yields confusion and error.
It weighs on us and slows us down,
diverting our energies and distracting our minds.
In the end, we usually choose wrong solutions.

There is only one choice that yields peace -
choosing Christ.
Then, in Him, we can rest and trust and follow.
Who better than God to determine all aspects of our lives?
