Today is Thursday, June 3rd, 2010; Karen's Korner #1834

Several thoughts and verses taken from the 2" x 3" book titled "QUIET TIMES Uplifting Thoughts for Women" (guys, you can read them and enjoy them as well!). While it is a little book, it is chucked full of wonderful thoughts. I will use some more of them in the future:

"That we may lead a quiet and peaceable life
in all goodliness and reverence."
- ITimothy 2:2

What happens when we find the time to be quiet and listen?
God's wisdom looms larger and our problems shrink.
We must redecide daily to go to a quiet place
where we can talk with God
and meditate on His Word.

**

"By pride comes only contention.
But with the well-advised
is wisdom."
- Proverbs 13:10

Pride exaggerates our strengths
and denies our weaknesses.
Love, however, frees us to be realistic
about our strengths and honest about our weaknesses.
Love is the effective--and healing--
antidote to pride.

**

"Even a child is known by his deeds.
Whether what he does is pure and right."
~ Proverbs 20:11

Whether our adolescents are failing in school,
abusing drugs, or simply breaking rules,
the most important thing we can do for them
is allow them to accept responsibility for
their actions.
