"See how very much our heavenly Father loves us,
for He allows us to be called His Children --
think of it --
and we really are!!
But since most people don't know God,
naturally they don't know that we are His Children.
Yes, dear friends, we are already God's Children,
right now,
and we can't even imagine what it is going to be like later on.
But we do know this,
that when He comes we will be like Him,
as a result of seeing Him as He really is.

Bible Commentary: As believers, our self-worth is based on the fact that God loves us and calls us his children. We are his children now, just sometime in the distant future. Knowing that we are his children encourages us to live as Jesus did.
The Christian life is a process of becoming more and more Christlike. This process will not be complete until we see him face to face, but knowing that it is our ultimate goal should motivate us to live more and more like Christ each day.
