Today is Friday, April 12th, 2013; Karen's Korner #2545

Last weekend my friend gave me a copy of "Chicken Soup for Gardener's Soul"; most people are familiar with the numerous Chicken Soup books. Along with the couple of page submissions by various writers in each submission, there are also single thought sayings which kick off a story or section. Here are a few of them, perfect for our coming planting season:

"He who plants a garden plants happiness."
~ Chinese Proverb

*

"You don't have a garden just for yourself.
You have it to share."
~ Augusta Carter

*

"Wishing to be friends is quick work,
but friendship is a slow-ripening fruit."
~ Aristotle

*

"Treat a person as he is,
and he will remain as he is.
Treat him as he could be,
and he will become what he should be."
~ Jimmy Johnson

*

"Love is a fruit in season at all times
and within reach of every hand.
~ Mother Teresa

*

"Like people,
plants respond to extra attention."
~ H. Peter Loewer

"Anything which grows is always more beautiful
to look at than anything which is built."
~ Lin Yu Tang

"Gardens are our link with the divine."
~ William Howard Adams
