Something from Sarah Young's "Jesus Calling:  Enjoying Peace in His Presence". There are 365 of them; one for each day of the year. They are written as if Jesus is talking with us today. She doesn't just make them up out of her head or life experiences; they are taken as thoughts from Bible verses. References for this one are Psalm 23:1-4 and 2 Corinthians 4:16-17.

They are all good, but this one was for yesterday:

"Stay calmly conscious of Me today, no matter what. Remember that I go before you as well as with you into the day. Nothing takes Me by surprise. I will not allow circumstances to overwhelm you, so long as you look to Me. I will help you cope with whatever the moment presents. Collaborating with Me bring blessings that far outweigh all your troubles. Awareness of My Presence contains Joy that can endure all circumstances."
