Looking at the five chapters of I John with three bold section headings:  God Is light; God is love; and God is life.

Doesn't look like He changes His mind on any of them:  light, love and life!

Since Valentine's Day is coming on Saturday, here is the introduction to the 'love' part:

"See how very much our heavenly Father loves us,

for He allows us to be called His Children---

think of it ----

and we really are!!

But since most people don't know God,

naturally they don't understand that we are His Children.

Yes, dear friends, we are already God's Children,

right now,

and we can't even imagine what it is going to be like later on.

But we do know this,

that when He comes we will be like Him,

as a result of seeing Him as He really is!"

Bible Commentary:  "As believers, our self-worth is based on the fact that God loves us and calls us His Children. We are His Children now, not just sometime in the distant future. Knowing that we are His Children encourages us to live as Jesus did."
