On Sunday, our church celebrated high school graduates associated with our church family. At lunch, Margaret Cramer talked with and about them. Among other things we looked at a small portion of her 'collection' of sayings.
I am sharing a handful of them with you today:
"Though life may be understood by looking backward, it can be lived only by looking forward."
*
"Many of life's failures are individuals who did not realize how close they were to success when they gave up."
~ John Hagee
*
"The older you get, you discover that ........gratitude is essential."
*
"Feed your faith, and your doubts will starve to death."
*
"I've tried all the machines at the gym, but the only one I keep going back to is the vending machine."
*
Cramer included a number of quotes from Chris Holmes:
"Surround yourself with people who share your vision, but different skill sets."
*
"Find something to celebrate each day. Skipping down the street is optional."
*
"Plant the seed of encouragement in the heart of someone today. It may lie dormant for a season but it will grow and eventually bloom."
*
"If you aren't showing gratitude for what you already have, why do you expect to receive more?"
**
"Do you see what this means - all these veterans cheering us on. It means we'd better get on with it. Strip down, start running - and never quit! No extra spiritual fat, no parasitic sins. Keep your eyes on Jesus, who both began and finished this race we're in."
~ Hebrews 12:1 - 2 (The Message)
