Today is Thursday, October 8th, 2020; Karen's Korner #4314

When our older grandson Luke got his first job, he was 14, a few months before turning 15. He began at a Fareway grocery store a handful of miles from his home.

One thing our daughter and son-in-law liked was that Fareway's aren't open on Sundays. Regardless if their family (or others) participated in church events or not, they knew they 'had their son back on Sundays'.

Fareway. Hobby Lobby. Chick-fil-A. All have a reputation of not being open on Sundays.

Here is some facts about Chick-fil-A I received in an email recently:

"Chick-fil-A locations across the US are all closed on Sunday, in keeping with founder Truett Cathy's Christian faith. He believed that all franchised Chick-fil-A Operators and their employees should have an opportunity to rest, spend time with family and friends, and worship if they choose to do so.

""'Closing our business on Sunday, the Lord's Day, is our way of honoring God and showing our loyalty to Him.' Cathy wrote in his book 'Eat Mor Chikin: Inspire More People.' Despite being open for 14% fewer days a year than competitors, Chick-fil-A continues to dominate the fast-food industry."
