Today is Thursday, July 15th, 2021; Karen's Korner #4489

As a Bible reader, I pick a book of the Bible. Finish it and start another book. Right now I am reading the book of Mark; hadn't read it for a long time.

I had forgotten how 'action packed' it is with stories about Jesus.

Here are a couple of verses which I read several days ago:

"The people standing around there (Lake Gennesaret) recognized Jesus at once, and ran throughout the whole area to spread the news of his arrival, and began carrying sick folks to him on mats and stretchers. Wherever he went---in villages and cities, and out on the farms---they laid the sick in the market plazas and streets, and begged him to let them at least touch the fringes of his clothes, and as many as touched him were healed."~(Mark 6:53-56).

The Bible commentary on the last verse says," Jewish men wore ankle-length robes called tunics. Over the tunic they wore a waist-length vest called a tallith. Four tassels were sewed to the four lower corners of the fringe of his tallith. People may not have realized that it was faith in Jesus, not magical power, that healed them."
