A couple of short thoughts today:

"Should not the Bible regain the place it once held as a
schoolbook? Its morals are pure, its examples are
captivating and noble."

-- Massachusetts Congressman Fisher Ames (1758-1808)

"I have wondered at times about what
the Ten Commandments would have
looked like if Moses had run them
through the U.S. Congress."

- Ronald Reagan

Shared by Newt Draheim:

The clock of life is wound but once
And no man has the power
To tell just when the hands will stop
      At late or early hour.
Now is the only time you own.
Live, love, toil with a will.
      Place no faith in time.
For the clock may soon be still.

Shared from my sister, Amy Van Note:

After a church service on Sunday morning,
a young boy suddenly announced to his mother,
"Mom, I've decided to become a minister When I grow up."

"That's okay with us, but what made you decide that?"

"Well," said the little boy, "I have to go to church on
Sunday anyway, and I figure it will be more fun to stand up and
yell, than to sit and listen."
