Bible Commentary: "With love and skill, David the shepherd boy cared for his flocks. As Israel's king, David cared for his people the same way ----with skillful hands and s true heart. The skill and integrity are basic requirements for effective leadership. Those without skill are ineffective. Those without high moral character lead people astray or become easily corrupted. In our pursuit to become more highly skilled, we should not neglect integrity. We should not treat our present situation lightly or irresponsibly, it may be God's training ground for our future."
