Today is Monday, November 6th, 2023; Karen's Korner #4991

(Sorry for the delay. I was away from my computer for an extended time this morning.)

"We can make a large horse turn around
and go wherever we want by means of a small bit in his mouth.
And a tiny rudder makes a huge ship turn wherever the pilot wants it to go,
even though the winds are strong.
So also the tongue is a small thing,
but what enormous damage it can do.
A great forest can be set on fire by one tiny spark."

~ James 3:3 - 5 LAB

Bible Commentary:
"What we say
and what we don't say are both important.
Proper speech is not only saying the right words at the right time,
but controlling our desire
to say what we shouldn't.
Examples of wrongly using the tongue include
gossiping, putting others down,
bragging, manipulating,
false teaching, exaggerating,
 complaining, flattering,
and lying.
Before we speak,
we should ask,
"Is it true?
Is it necessary?
and is it kind?"
