I have been enjoying my home and its Christmas decorations, lights and colors. Until a few days ago!
When I got up in the morning, about half of the beautiful poinsettia I had won at a bank open house, was drooping. And two of the four strings of lights I had on my Christmas tree were out.
Ugh!
I added more water to the thirsty poinsettia and attempted to buy more strings of lights at our local hardware store. They didn't have any left of multi-colored and green electric cords. The clerk's suggestion: take off the existing lights and ornaments off and start with all new.
I am not THAT fond of decorating Christmas trees to do that!
Ugh!
I glanced at a Christmas ornament I had received at a recent Christmas party which was hanging between my kitchen curtains, blaring out "Joy to the World".
Jesus has brought 'joy' to MY world more times than I can count. A partial sentence in the third stanza of Joy to the World says, "He comes to make His blessings flow".
I had a second thought for my lighted tree. I have a couple strings of lights in front of my house. I could switch one string for another. I pulled off one the unlighted strings from my house tree. Added the 'new' one, which 'covered' the blank spots. Don't look too close as I left on unlighted string in its place.
My poinsettia had perked back up.
I look pretty good again around here.
Merry Christmas!
And Joy to THE world. Joy to MY world. Joy to YOUR world!!
