This is Palm Sunday weekend and will be celebrated in various ways in our churches on Sunday! It is recorded in the first four gospels:  Matthew 21; Mark 21, and John 12.  And also in these verses of Luke:

"Then the crowds spread out their robes along the road ahead of Him, and as they reached the place where the road started down from the Mount of Olives, the whole procession began to shout and sing, as they walked along, praising God for all the wonderful miracles Jesus had done."

Bible Commentary:  "The people who were praising God for giving them a king had the wrong idea about Jesus. They were sure he would be a national leader who would restore their nation to its former glory, and thus they were deaf to the words of their prophets and blind to Jesus' real mission. When it became apparent that Jesus was not going to fulfill their hopes, many people turned against him."
