Today is Thursday, August 10th, 2006; Karen's Korner #864
This korner is taken from a daily devotional book by Max Lucado titled "Grace for the Moment". It is the August 10th entry and talks about prayers by parents. I know that I was prayed for by one grandma and probably both. I wonder if part of my decisions, thinking, and beliefs are a product of those prayers?
Do we pray enough for our children and grandchildren today? Even if we haven't been very faithful "pray-ers" in the past, today might be a good day to begin.
A Parent's Precious Prayers
"All your children will be taught by the Lord.
and they will have much peace."
~~ Isaiah 54:13
"Never underestimate the ponderings of a Christian parent. Never underestimate the power that comes when a parent pleads with God behalf of a child. Who knows how many prayers are being answered right now because of the faithful ponderings of a parent ten or twenty years ago? God listens to thoughtful parents.
Praying for our children is a noble task. If what we are doing in this fast-paced society, is taking us away from prayer time for our children, we're doing too much. There is nothing more special, more precious than time that a parent spends struggling and pondering with God on behalf of a child."
