It's Monday and Memorial Day!
A good to celebrate and remember; all the men and women who have served in our military. Giving their time, their hearts, and sometimes their lives!
This morning I heard a commentator say, "Where would we be if young men and women were not willing to sign up to serve our country in the military?"
Here are the words to "God Bless America" written at the turn of the 20th century by Irving Berlin:
GOD BLESS AMERICA
"While the storm clouds gather far across the sea,
Let us swear allegiance to a land that's free,
Let us all be grateful for a land so fair,
As we raise our voices in a solemn prayer. "
"God Bless America,
Land that I love.
Stand beside her, and guide her
Thru the night with a light from above.
From the mountains, to the prairies,
To the oceans, white with foam
God bless America, My home sweet home."
